The land snail Laotia Saurin, 1953 is currently in the family Alycaeidae Blanford, 1864, in the superfamily Cyclophoroidea Gray, 1847, with limited distribution to Northern Vietnam and Northern Laos (Xieng Khouang, Luang Prabang). Laotia species are mainly distributed in forests over limestone. To date, 4 species and subspecies have been identified, of which the first species (Laotia pahiensis Saurin, 1953) was discovered in Pah Hia, Xieng Khouang, Laos, and 3 species (L. c. christahemmenae, L. c. phami, and L. luongi) were discovered in Vietnam. In this study, the distribution of L. c. phami from Dien Bien Province was recorded for the first time. Genus Laotia is characterized by its very small to small shell size, usually less than 5 mm; shell conical, dextral, consisting of 4-5 whorls, of which the last whorls grow rapidly; the protoconch smooth, the teleoconch rough with many radial ribs, lamellar-like and raised; approximately a quarter of the body whorl is turned obliquely upwards so that the aperture is directed toward the apex.
