CURRENT SITUATION AND SOLUTIONS FOR PROMOTING HI-TECH AGRICULTURE APPLICATION IN PRODUCTION, PRESERVATION AND PROCESSING IN BAC KAN PROVINCE

Promoting hi-tech agriculture would be an inevitable trend to improve the competitiveness of the agriculture sector of Vietnam in general and Bac Kan province in particular in the integration process. This article presents key findings from an assessment of the current situation of high-tech application in production, preservation and processing of some major agricultural crops in Bac Kan province to provide policy recommendations. The study was carried out from May to August 2020 through interviews with 50 individuals representing government agencies from the provincial to district levels, research institutions, NGOs, and the People's Committees of 4 representative communes. Desktop studies of documents and secondary data were updated until the end of 2022. As a results, the level of application of high technology in production, preservation and processing in the province is still limited. In addition, key challenges were analyzed and some solutions were proposed to promote the development of high-tech agriculture in Bac Kan province.
