Abstract

In the early twentieth century, in Hanoi, many public buildings were built by the French in the Neoclassical architectural style. Neoclassical architecture is characterized by respecting the elements of classical Greek - Roman architecture with strict symmetry to create solid and superficial works. This, making an important contribution to helping the French demonstrate the authority and strength of the colonial government, as well as demonstrate the superiority of French culture over the indigenous peoples. On these buildings, ironwork architectural decorative elements are used a lot with typical expressions for Western culture.
