REDESCRIPTION OF CURVELLA TONKINIANA, A TERRESTRIAL SNAIL ENDEMIC TO VIETNAM, AND A LIST OF ALL KNOWN SPECIES OF THE GENUS CURVELLA (GASTROPODA: ACHATINIDAE)

The terrestrial snail Curvella tonkiniana Jaeckel, 1950 was discovered from Tonkin Vietnam. The species remains poorly understood and no studies exist regarding its taxonomy or habitat. Based on specimens collected in 2019 and 2020 from Ngoc Son-Ngo Luong Nature Reserve, Hoa Binh Province, we present a re-description of new information on shell morphology, shell size and habitat. The known range of the species to include Pu Luong Nature Reserve, Cuc Phuong National Park and Ha Long region. In addition, a checklist of all Curvella species is provided.
