Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) is a creeping perennial herb that belongs to the family Cucurbitaceae. GP had been used in treating various diseases, such as anti-Cancer Effect, immune modulation, Inhibition of cell migration, regulation of gut microbiota, cell cycle arrest, anti-atherogenic, lipid-regulating, anti-obesity, hyperlipidemia, alzheimer’s disease, anti-Parkinson’s disease, hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic…. In this study, antibacterial activity was conducted to assess the antibiotic ability of the extracted of Citrus sinensis specimens on 96-well microtitre microplates according to the method of Vander Bergher và Vlietlinck (1991), và McKane & Kandel (1996) and Antioxidant Activity by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. Results: Crude extract and ethanol (GPN) inhibited the growth of 4 strains of bacteria and fungi (E.coli, P.aeruginosa, S.aureus và C.albicans); The ethyl acetate (PGE) extract inhibited the growth of 5 strains of bacteria and fungi (E.coli, P.aeruginosa, S.aureus, A.niger, C.albicans); The n-hexan (PGE) extract inhibited the growth of 5 strains of bacteria and fungi (P.aeruginosa , B.subtillis và F.oxysporum); The water (PGE) extract inhibited the growth of S.aureus. The results suggest that Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract has potent antioxidant activities. Gynostemma pentaphyllum at Na Hang, Tuyên Quang could be utilized as a functional food to supplement, against oxidative stress and minimized the impact of aging.
