Abstract

To evaluate the acute toxicity of An than - TN tablets made in Thai Nguyen traditional medicine hospital in experimental animals to the guidelines of the World Health Organization. The sedative effect was examined by advanced cross model, activity cage model, and the able to maintain of Swiss mice on the rotating rod of Rotarod test was assessed. The results showed that An than - TN from a dose of 21.2625g/kg to the highest dose of 35.4375g/kg did not show acute toxicity in mice. An Than -TN tablets at the dose of 1.44 tablets/kg/day and 4.32 tablets/kg/day did show the sedative activity on activity cage model, the advance cross and shortened the maintaining time of Swiss mice on Rotarod. Therefore, An than - TN tablet expressed no acute toxicity and had the effect of treating sleep disorders in experimental animals.
