Abstract

Early childhood education is the first level of the national education system, laying the foundation for physical, intellectual, emotional, aesthetic development, and forming basic personality traits for children before entering primary school. Currently, early childhood teachers are mainly trained at pedagogical colleges and a few universities. Harnessing local culture is an effective trend in training early childhood teachers at pedagogical colleges. In this study, through the theoretical research method, we analyze the issue of leveraging local culture in training early childhood teachers at pedagogical colleges from various aspects: necessity, the main areas, proposed directions for leveraging local culture to serve the training of early childhood teachers, and the advantages, benefits of leveraging local culture in training early childhood teachers at pedagogical colleges. The study also aims to affirm the important role of local culture in training preschool teachers at teacher training colleges, as it contributes to building a practical-oriented early childhood education system, meets the demands of educational innovation, and provides a solid foundation for general education.
